Week 6, Thing 15

I read some of the articles about Web 2.0, Library 2.0 and the future of libraries. I did find it to be very interesting but since we are talking about the future no one can say for sure what will happen. All I know is that everything changes and so just as alway libraries will adapt. Besides we are always looking for ways to improve our services!

Week 6; Thing 14

I explored Technorati and claimed my blog. Did several searches for Learning 2.0 and the results were the same! I can understand why so many people use this site. It is helpful to be able to mark your friends and/or favorite blogs and not have to keep track of each one that you plan on checking on a regular basis.

Week 6; Thing 13

I listen to the the tutorial, didn't really get much from it. I then thought I would set up an account an explore del.i.cio.us to give me a better idea of all it had to offer. After going through the steps of setting up yet another account, it wanted me to install two buttons into the browser. I didn't think this was a good idea so I didn't finish with setting up an account. I don't see the point in adding these buttons unless I am going to actually use this site. I then decided to just look at some of the most popular tags. I can see why some people may really like this service, if they spend a lot of time surfing the net.

Week 5; Thing 12

So I played around with Rollyo and I am attaching a link to the search rolls that I created. Since I am really not a big web searcher, I don't really see the point in rollyo. Although I do find it fun to learn about all the things that are out there, I don't really see the point in this one.

Weeek 5; Thing 11

Library Thing is a lot of fun and a great way to keep track of books you have read. I can see myself actually using this site and keeping it update when I have time. For right now I am going to attach just a few of my favorites.

Week 4; Thing 9

This subscribe process on Merlin was not easy. I would have thought that the button at the bottom that says "SUBSCRIBE" really would allow you to subscribe. Good thing my very smart co-worker could help me figure this one out. I look forward to reading all the feeds on the Merlin site when I have nothing else better to do.

Week 4; Thing 8

I set up an RSS account but I really don't get it. I mean it is nice to be informed but I think it is a little over the top for me. I can't see myself really logging back on and checking this account. It was really overwhelming to see all the messages that were waiting for me to read, who has time for this....

Week 3, Thing 7

The next thing is to post anything technology related so here it goes. Now that I have played with flickr and figured out on my own (I am very proud of myself) how to link flickr to my blog. I am wondering why sometimes the text that I posted with my picture shows and sometimes it doesn't? Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to fix it so that the text shows all the time? I can understand why so many people out there use flickr, I was surprised by all the cool things you could create and how easy it really is. I can't wait to learn more!

OKay I now figured out the setting to link my flickr account to my blog. Now I can add photos from one account to the other. It took me a few minutes to set it up. I had a little problem with Google because I had to activiate my blog account and wait for Google to email me but once I got past that it was simple. So here is a picture of my family.

Week 3, Thing 6

Tonight I took some time to explore flickr. I really got into playing around with all the differnt things you can create with your photos. I even made a photo calendar, a bill board sign and a movie poster with photos I downloaded! I also explored some of the 3rd party sights. It was fun to see all the differnt things flickr offers but I can't see me actually using it.

Week 3, Thing 5

Okay I know I have not been posting things each week but it is hard finding the time to read the material and then it is hard finding time to complete the tasks. Today I promised myself I was going to sit down and really work on this so today I registered my blog, played with Flickr, created a flickr account and starting using the 23 things tracking log. I think I am starting to really enjoy this program, I just wish I had more time to devote to it!

Week 2, Thing 4

Okay so today I registered my blog! Then I was sitting here trying to think of something to write about so I thought I would look at some other blogs for inspiration. As I clicked on the "next blog" link a blog came up with porn! I thought this was a work project!?!

Week 2, Thing 3-Starting a Blog

Starting a blog today was easy. Knowing what to post is the hard part!
